It was again a busy weekend. In general all of the horses were quite good. Unfortunately, I did have a fall on Running Order. He jumped off the island in the middle of the water and stumbled on landing sending us in for a swim! I was very happy to have my new air vest on. Not that you ever want to fall, but if you're going to you might as well have a vest on.
Shameless Plug: Hit Air Equestrian is now our official air vest supplier. Their vests are now available at the DPE Store with free shipping!
This was also more frustrating, being that even with a few bobbles finished 4th after dressage with a 29!...off to the Fork we go. All of the winter training sessions with Mark Phillips and Katie Prudent have helped tremendously!
So needless to say when I went out on Leroy for his intermediate XC I was a bit nervous heading into the water. Wet sand filled pants/boot/pretty much everything and all...He was a star and finished up the weekend in 4th.
As for the others, the prelim crew was great. Tali finished his first prelim at SPII. This XC was by no means insignificant, so I'm very excited. Simon and the Lord both jumped very well finishing their second prelims.
The training crew was also very good again with a difficult course.
Brief recap:
LeRoy 4th
Frolic 7th
Simon 8th
Tali 9th
Geoffrey 10th
Lord 11th
Andy 4th
Max 13th
I've actually not had that many SJ rails at one event in quite a while. I think the terrain took more out of them than I had expected. I can't wait to get back to the NJ hills...
Pine Top next weekend and then the Fork the following.
