today...
I had a lesson today with Anne Kursinski riding Tali. As always she has a tremendous amount of info and experience to offer. It was a great help, and will certainly improve Tali and my jumping for the future! Our next event is Stuart, we'll certainly be back at Anne's before then.

Back to Eventing...and tonight some sleep!
We had a hell of a week. Up to HITS wed-fri mornings the latest departure was 6 then this morning off to Seneca just north west of DC leaving the barn at 3:30! So if the following blog doesn't quite make sense I'd guess it's due to sleep deprivation.
I'm back in my living room in NJ. We had two head down to Seneca, Tali and Stoner. Stoner was first to go. He didn't quite feel himself during dressage so I elected to withdraw him from the jumping phases. He'll be back in action soon! Tali was next, this was his first event back since the Va CCI*. He was excellent. Especially being that Dressage is surrounded on three sides by XC which is running simultaneously. Aside from his test earlier this spring at Fair Hill this was his best test to date. I'm getting to the point where I can actually ride the test and keep his freak of nature trot under wraps! Not that I don't enjoy what we've got now, but I can't imagine how good he'll be in a year. He got a 29.1 and was in 4th just a few points out of first.
Show Jumping was next. I'm very excited...I was able to apply some of what I learned this week with Courage to Tali. We did have one down, but he jumped better than ever before for the rest. XC was uneventful, again he jumped very well. We finished up 5th.
We're laying low for the next few weeks. The next event is Stuart, but before then we'll have a number of jumper shows etc... Tali is also heading over to Anne's early next week for a lesson. I'm really looking forward to it!

HITS Day #1...Week III
All of the horses were great today. Courage jumped a double clean in the level 6's placing him 12 out of 50+. Leo won the level 1's and jumped well in the 2's despite a rail at the first fence :(...Frolic also jumped double clear, but I'm not sure of his final placing.
Courage is back for the 6's tomorrow as is Leo in the 1's and 2's.

Plantation Field HT
Plantation was quite good today. They had just a one day event today, so it was an early morning. We left the barn at 6. Stonewall, owned by Denis Glaccum of Plantation, had a good dressage and jumped clean on xc and sj finishing 2nd in Training. PJ was entered in Novice, his dressage was quite good. He did have one rail in SJ, but jumped around XC clean.
We have HITS again this week, wed and thurs, and then Seneca HT next weekend! So check back for new pics etc...
